Transformers Devastation Gameplay Demo

E3 continues and with it is a little bit more about Transformers Devastation that is coming to consoles this October. The official site is now live at TransformersGame.com with the teaser trailer and screenshots. Below is a video with game developers discuss the game and the sources they used with IGN while a demo reel played.

A detailed description of the full playable demo can be found at Game Informer. The key bits is the game is a run and fight game that uses combos and transformations for attacking as move through the level. Each of the five playable Autobots (Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Grimlock, and Wheeljack) have their own special weapons and capabilities that include direct homages to the character (like Prime's energy axe). As play through the character levels up in their eight tech specs (like appears on the back of G1 toy boxes) of strength, intelligence, speed, endurance, rank, courage, firepower, and skill with max level of 99. The game also includes a crafting system via Teletraan 1 to combine the 150+ in game weapons to create new ones alone with mini-games to create means of boosting the weapon's or Autobot's own stats. Visually the game looks like it has nailed Generation One so the focus will be on how fun is the game (too early to tell but shows lots of potential). For modern games, 5 Autobots seems like a small number of playable characters so I can't help but wonder exactly what DLCs are in the pipeline to expand the number of players, what skins they are working on and if plan on DLC levels and DLCs to play as Decepticons.
